While there are a number of organizations working within the local food system, our region still lacks sufficient access points where consumers can directly purchase local food - particularly within low-income neighborhoods.

Farmers also lack aggregation, distribution, and processing infrastructure that will allow them to increase their revenue and feed even greater numbers of people.

Coastal Foodshed aims to fill these gaps, connecting consumers and producers.

Farmers Markets are a gathering place for our community to purchase and support local food; and also to connect and share stories, recipes, and learn from their local farmers and food producers.

Across all of our markets, we aim to create a diverse and balanced market–to provide a variety of local food products for our community, while ensuring profitability for participating local food producers and vendors.

We manage four markets in the City of New Bedford- three outdoor and one indoor, and you can find all of our locations below.

Be sure to sign up for our weekly market newsletter to stay in the loop on all activities, products, and events happening at each one!
