Coastal Foodshed provides us with the services and support that allow us to spend more time farming. We’re able to focus on growing food, while Coastal Foodshed focuses on moving, marketing, and selling our food throughout the Southcoast, allowing us to spend our time growing our operations.

Immediacy:
Since we are a small, grassroots organization, your donation is immediately invested in the time, supplies, and equipment needed to transport, store, distribute, market, and sell local food — allowing farmers to reach more customers and spend more of their time growing food.
Scope:
Your donation supports the growth of the local economy and local businesses, equitable access to food, and a healthier and more sustainable environment. With your support we can carve new distribution channels from local producers to underserved communities, while building a stronger and more just local food economy from producers to consumers.
Local Focus:
Supporting local farmers and makers and enabling fresh-food access for nearby communities creates a stronger and more equitable local food system. Greater New Bedford contains urban neighborhoods traditionally without access to enough fresh produce and groceries. This inequity in access to affordable nutritious foods impacts the communities’ long-term health.
