About

HISTORY: Coastal Foodshed grew out of the work of Mass in Motion New Bedford (MiM NB). Due to operational and funding restrictions under MiM NB, we created Coastal Foodshed as a way to sustain and expand existing programs, as well as develop new programs that meet the needs of the community.

VISION: Our vision is for the greater New Bedford region to be known for innovative approaches to food access and food justice where residents are engaged in creating a food secure community, and farmers are able to thrive in a local food economy that promotes the ability to grow, consume, and distribute healthy, locally produced foods.

MISSION: Our mission is to foster food justice and strengthen food security by creating sustainable and reliable access points and infrastructure that allow growers to sell, and consumers to buy, healthy, affordable, local foods.
